12 Annual Big Sioux Riders Spring Campout at the Dam... on Mother's Day

The 12th Annual Big Sioux Riders Campout will be on Mother's Day weekend in 2015 (May 8-10).  We are going to start on Friday again this year for everyone who wants to come a day early.  The location will be the Fort Randall Creek Recreation Area SD State Campground (near Pickstown, South Dakota) again this year.  We are still working on options for a Friday dinner.   There will be a cook out again Saturday evening at the camp ground of brats, campfire beans with chips and desert.  Free, hot coffee will be provided the whole weekend.  This is a low key, low cost get together and a good time for everyone to get out and get their tires warmed out. All Friends and fellow riders are welcome.  We'll be posting more details in comments or below as we get them.

  1. We will have the brightest flashlight competition again at the campout Saturday evening. Returning Champion Doug Shonley will be in charge of the rules again. Lights have to work under their own power (battery or motor powered only - no AC extension cord hookups). Stillie's take note - Lasers and home-built-franken-tourches will be in a separate category this year :)

  2. We have camping spot 20E reserved and paid for at the campgrounds this weekend. Its just north of Cabins A & B, which we also have reserved. You can setup Friday night at 20E. Spots 21E and 22E are still open. Can the first people there try to snag 21E and the second 22E. Park your bikes on them and make it look used. I'm not sure if we will need them Friday night or not. Thanks.

  4. We also have spot 19E reserved and prepaid. Fill spots 20E and 19E first. Overflow is 21E and 22E. There may also be a cabin available, check with me if your interested.

  5. I just talked to Ranger Dawn at North Point and gave her the heads up. She said Ranger John or herself will do a drive and make sure we have plenty of firewood. Also told them we would pay all the vehicle park permits together late Saturday afternoon. That is what part of what everyone's $20 goes to. Mother's Day campout rolls on.
